About
Why two readers
Three Oaks Fold started as an argument between two friends about whether a particular browser strategy game was the best thing ever made or a second job. We were both right. The site is built so that both answers get printed.
The idea
A single review score hides the most useful information: who it is for. By publishing two scores from two people with known tastes, and the verdict we settle on, we let you see whether a game divides people and along which line. The gap between our numbers is the first thing many readers look at.
What we cover
Online games that run in a web page, with nothing to install and nothing to pay to start. Builders, farms, war games, role-playing games. We do not review gambling products of any kind.
How the site pays for itself
Through affiliate links on the "Open the game" buttons. If you sign up through one, the publisher may pay us a small commission, which covers hosting. Scores and text are locked before any link is added and no publisher sees a note before publication.
Artwork
Game artwork is taken from the publishers' press and promotional material and is used to identify the game being discussed. It belongs to them. If you hold the rights to an image and would like it removed or credited differently, write to us.
The name
A fold is where two things meet and where sheep are kept safe for the night. Three oaks stood outside the window where the first argument happened.
